Here you will find the most frequently asked questions we receive.  Don’t see your question here?  Please feel free to contact us.

How far in advance should we book our event with Society Cuisine?

We recommend securing your date with us as soon as you know you would like us to cater your event. Our calendar can book as far out as 12-18 months in advance.

What is your minimum?

Weddings start at $2,000 and all other (non-Saturday) events start at $500.

Do you offer tastings?

Yes, we are happy to schedule a private tasting for all events, up to four people per tasting. Cost starts at $25/person, however if you decide to book us, we apply the tasting fee towards your balance (making it complimentary).

How do we secure you for our event?

We require a signed contract and 25% non-refundable deposit to secure your date on our calendar.

What does the “catering fee” include?

Our catering fee helps off-set the cost of labor and administration costs such as email and phone correspondence, dishwashing, packing for your event, sourcing ingredients, clean up, site visits, working with rental companies, etc., however it also includes the following:

  • Set-up of all food purchased through Society Cuisine, all serving platters, utensils, chaffing dishes and chaffing fuel.

  • Custom menu boards or buffet signage with descriptions for each selection.

  • Six foot buffet tables with fitted black linens (up to four; upon request).

  • Disposal of trash after dinner service into venue dumpster (upon request)

  • Please note that the catering fee is not gratuity and is subject to state and local tax

Is gratuity included in your pricing?

No.  We feel that gratuity should be given based upon your satisfaction with your experience with us.  It is not expected, but graciously accepted.

How many servers are included?

Generally, we will staff one server for every 25-35 guests for a buffet, one server for every 15-20 guests for family style and one server for every 10-15 guests for plated. We do take into account your menu, event size and the duration, so this number may vary.

What do your servers wear?

For casual events, modest, casual, weather appropriate attire with bistro black apron.  For weddings and more formal events, black top and black pant with black bistro apron.

What type of service do you offer?

Stationary and passed hors d’oeuvres, family style, buffet, and plated.

How long does it take to serve my guests?

This depends largely on the type of service you have chosen and how many guests you have. Other factors that affect how quickly your guests are served depend on whether or not your guests already know their menu selection and if you have someone (dj or coordinator) releasing tables.

Do you offer bar services?

Yes, we can provide a bartender for an additional flat rate. We also suggest Hatch mobile bartending truck for a unique experience.

Do you have rentals?

We do not provide rentals but we are happy to help make arrangements for anything you may need.
